Terms of Service

Last Updated: January 28th, 2026

The short version

CourseCheetah is a browser extension that helps you work through your Canvas coursework faster. This page is the agreement between you and us for using it. We've tried to keep it readable, but it still counts as the real deal - so please read it.

1. When these terms apply

The moment you install, open, or use CourseCheetah - the extension, this website, or anything connected to them (we'll call all of it "the Services") - you're agreeing to everything on this page. If any part of it doesn't sit right with you, the fix is simple: don't use the Services. Where "we," "us," or "CourseCheetah" appears below, that's the team behind the product; "you" is whoever is using it.

If your local laws don't consider you old enough to agree to something like this on your own, get a parent or guardian to sign off before you begin.

2. What CourseCheetah actually does

CourseCheetah runs inside your web browser and helps you move through Canvas assignments more efficiently. It suggests answers, breaks questions down, and points you toward the material so you spend less time stuck and more time learning. A few honest notes on how it works:

  • It's a study aid. It's built to support the work you're already doing, not to do your thinking for you.
  • It runs on your side of the screen. CourseCheetah works as a client-side tool in your own browser. It doesn't reach into anyone else's servers, and it doesn't get around logins, passwords, or access controls.
  • It handles the common formats - multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank, and similar question types - and returns suggestions quickly.

We think it's genuinely useful, but we're not promising it's perfect or that it fits every assignment you'll ever meet.

3. Playing it straight

You're in charge of how you use CourseCheetah, and we're trusting you to use it honestly. That means:

  • Following the law and your school's rules while you use it.
  • Treating the suggestions as a learning tool - a way to understand the material, not a shortcut around it.
  • Not leaning on the Services as your only means of finishing coursework or earning credit.
  • Not using CourseCheetah to cheat, misrepresent your work, or break the policies of any school, course, or platform.

Academic honesty matters, and it's on you to stay on the right side of it. Misusing the Services can carry real consequences - failing grades, disciplinary action, a mark on your record, or worse - and those consequences land on you, not on us. We can't and won't take responsibility for how any individual chooses to use the tool.

4. We're our own thing

CourseCheetah is independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to any school, publisher, testing service, or learning platform, including Canvas. Any names, logos, or trademarks you see mentioned belong to their owners and only appear so you know what the tool is compatible with. We build, run, and support CourseCheetah entirely on our own, and it operates separately from any outside system.

5. No guarantees

The Services come to you "as is" and "as available." We do our best to keep everything running well, but we can't promise that:

  • Every suggested answer will be accurate or complete.
  • The Services will always be up, fast, or free of bugs.
  • Using CourseCheetah will change your grades in any particular direction.
  • It'll work with every platform, every assignment, or every situation you throw at it.

You understand that CourseCheetah may not match every requirement of your coursework, and we're not on the hook when it falls short.

6. Payments and subscriptions

All sales are final. When you buy a CourseCheetah subscription, that purchase is non-refundable, and it's good only for the plan length shown at checkout - it can't be swapped, extended, or cashed back out.

Your subscription runs for its stated period and then ends. Keeping track of when it expires and renewing in time is up to you; we won't refund or extend a plan that's already lapsed. Looking after your own account details is also your job - if an account gets into the wrong hands because credentials weren't kept safe, we can't replace or refund it.

7. Where our liability stops

To the fullest extent the law allows, CourseCheetah and everyone who works on it are not liable for any loss or damage that comes out of using, misusing, or being unable to use the Services. To be concrete, that covers things like:

  • Trouble caused by errors, downtime, glitches, or other technical hiccups.
  • Knock-on losses like wasted time, lost productivity, or unexpected conflicts with other software.
  • Bigger downstream effects - missed academic opportunities, lost credits, or a dip in your results.
  • Lost data, whether that's saved progress, personal details, or your own materials.
  • Damage to your reputation tied to how you used the tool.
  • Any penalty, sanction, or disciplinary action a school hands down over your conduct, whether or not the Services played any part.

Plenty of things sit outside our control - policy changes at your school, updates on platforms like Canvas, your own network - and we can't answer for those either. Using CourseCheetah is something you do at your own risk, and by using it you accept that.

8. Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms as the product and the rules around it shift. A revised version applies as soon as it goes up on this page, and for bigger changes we may also drop you a note by email or inside the app. Glance at them occasionally. Sticking with the Services after a revision means you're on board with it; if you're not, the answer is to stop using CourseCheetah.

9. Signing off

By using CourseCheetah, you're confirming that you've read these terms, you get what they mean, and you're okay being bound by them. You're also taking responsibility for your own choices while using the Services - including staying within the law and your school's policies, and using the tool honestly. That's the whole deal.
